Dia Parasrampuria
My name is Dia Parasrampuria and I am an aspiring student from Cathedral and John Connon School currently completing the IB Diploma Program. This website is intended to get to know me better through my interests outside the classroom. Besides my keen interest in engineering, I am a sports fanatic and became part of as many sports teams that my school would allow.
I am also passionate about raising awareness on menstrual hygiene at the same time being environmentally friendly. My favorite quote and the one that I aspire to live by: "Create a life that you don’t need a vacation from."

Research Paper
My passion for sustainable menstrual health options engendered me to author an esoteric research paper that investigated biodegradable polymers as a sustainable alternative to conventional sanitary pads. Through my comprehensive research, I proposed sodium alginate along with Carboxymethyl Cellulose(CMC) as a possible replacement for Super Absorbent Polymers (SAP), in the principal layer of sanitary napkins. This biodegradable polymer further boosts requirements such as absorption, fluid retention strength, tensile strength and cost reduction.
Download Research PaperInternship
My keen interest in the feminine hygiene industry encouraged me to intern under industrial engineers at PEPL during my summers. This Mumbai based company focuses on manufacturing plastic film for diapers and sanitary pads. As part of my internship, I worked independently on a substantial report to find solutions to upscale the quality control of the firm, by conducting studies on capital machinery. I was able to draw a conclusion and provide recommendations after thorough research of the machines and using business tools such as investment appraisal and sales forecasting. My work at the firm also gave me an opportunity to have engaging discussions with professional engineers.
Young Entrepreneurs’ Conference
I participated in an entrepreneurship competition where I pitched my biodegradable sanitary pad for a social start-up idea that I had spent my summer researching. I was the first runner up at the entrepreneurship competition.

Art portfolio "The Enchanted forest"
Every canvas is a journey of its own "Henry Frankenthaler, indeed my art journey has been special and enriching while painting these series of painting. My portfolio is called - “The enchanted forest". I have derived my works from a story I had heard as a child of Lord Ganesha's elephant head. My drawing explores the story through a different perspective as it highlights the flora and fauna of the mystical jungle in which this mythological story takes place. My three drawing one of the parakeet's, monarch butterflies and the final one being of lord Ganesha explore this story from a unique and different perspective.
